I winterized my travel trailer this weekend and forgot to bypass the water heater when pumping the antifreeze through the lines. I figure I put at most a half gallon into the heater.

However, when I removed the heater's drain plug once I realized my mistake, nothing came out... just a blast of air (I had closed the shutoffs).

So... because no antifreeze came out of the drain hole, am I safe? Or, did some get in there, and its just not enough to pour out? And, if some did get in there, is this going to a problem for the heater in the spring, or will flushing it real good take care of it?

Did you leave the plug on the tank open?

When I winterize mine, I just drain the tank and leave the plug out.

I do in fact run some antifreeze into the tank and then drain it out.

I would just worry that any water would get trapped in between your shutoffs and bypass, thats the only issue I would worry about.

Other than that I dont see any issues with it... Anyone else agree / disagree ?

Good point.

I had the plug in (even though it was drained). I did leave it out until spring. Thanks.
