Yesterday I noticed that someone had stolen my battery off of my camper while it was parked on the side of my house here in the wonderful suburbs of NE Philadelphia. I was gonna replace it this season anyway because its 6 years old. What really pisses me off is that the lazy piece of sh!t cut the wires instead of unscrewing the wing nuts. I was wondering if anyone has this or a similar model that the can post or email me a pic of the wiring set up. I just need u to take off the battery box lid and take a pick of the wires on the terminals. I have 2 white 1 green and 1 black & tan wire. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the battery more securely without breaking the bank? I do have all the original paperwork and manuals for it but there is nothing about the battery in any of it. Thanks Rrudzi Rrudzi@verizon.net

Sorry to hear about your theft. After consulting with a technician. The white wires will be your grounding wires/negative. The Black wire is your positive. Now the green and tan wires would be determined by were and what they are running. If you have a power tongue jack or any other aftermarket product that required direct wiring, these probably are the wires for those items. If either the tan or green wire have/had inline fuse holders, these are both positive wires.

As far as securing your battery, the best thing to do is remove the battery. Out of site, out of mind. If you find this to be impractical, I have seen custom welded angle iron frames that go around the battery box. This type of set up is purely custom work.

You could also use a piece of vinyl coated aircraft cable that fits around the battery so tightly, that it has to go between the vent covers on top or there is not enough slack to lock the lock. I know it's not theft proof, but considering how difficult it is to cut aircraft cable with bolt cutters, I figure it's a good deterrent.

Just some good ideas... to hopefully help prevent this from happening again.

Thanks. I have gotten a response from jayco and the green is the inline fuse that ties to the Black and Tan. And yes the 2 whites are grounds. I appreciate your help. I am gonna try to fabricate a steel box for the battery. Could you ask the tech if I need to disconnect anything when I weld it to the trailer frame?

I've seen lockable boxes made.out of diamond plate steel. They look really nice if you have a diamond plate stone guard, too.
