We have those de-flapper clamps that strap to the awning arm and clamp to the awning. They worked fine, till this year. Now, the straps aren't long enough to reach the awning? It doesn't look like the arms shifted, so I'm guessing the awning shrank? Is that possible?

I was wondering the same thing because we are able to hook up one side of ours but not the other one.

Awning fabrics do shrink... Over time the awning fabric will shrink, this is due to UV rays, heat and other weather related items. Age can also be contributed to the fact as well. Awning UV protection is a must for every RVer. Protecting your awning from harsh, damaging UV rays will prolong the life of your awning. UV protection will also help guard against fading and cracking. Keeping your awning clean will also help to prolong the life and limited damage down the road.

I know I treated it with UV protectant. But probably not enough. The awning was in rough shape since we got it, anyway.
