So mama got a call that we won 21 days of free camping. hookups and all. She is a finalist so we could possibly win a truck too. They will send a key, we go down, and try it in one of the trucks. We can use the camping anytime from now till next year sometime. She signed up for stuff at the rv show in altoona a few months ago.

Okay here is the deal on the Roaring Run Resort !

What a scam if I ever did see one before...

Last year Wildflower and I won the same thing from them !

We set up our appointment and went down for it...

We got there they were really nice, took us in and sat us down in front of a salesman...

He started off by offering us a Timeshare for like $12,000 or some crazy

We said no, then it went to eight, we said no, they kept on going to like $4500...

We were persistant in our andswers and they kept pressuring us to say yes...

The program seems like it might be alright for some, but it doesnt give you FREE camping...

You have the right to camp at alot of parks for like $10 . night, but will take alot of camping to pay off $12,000...

Everytime they offered us a lower price, we lost more resorts and campgrounds, so really not good for any one other than maybe some retired people...

I have come to kmow that anyone who enters it, "WINS 21 DAYS FREE CAMPING"

Oh yes, after the hours of pressure sales... They take you to a little desk by the back door, and say here is you camping certificate...

It says on it that its only good for Monday night through Thursday nights !

No using your free nights on ANY weekends...

What a scam... Steer clear of Roaring Run Resort...

I will bet, if you see them somewhere and you enter... You will get the same phone call we got...

yeah so we go down there today. pretty much everything u said ranger is right. the lady on the phone swore there were no blackout days for the 21 free days. well, when we were about to leave, they told us that the free camping was no fridays, saturdays or sundays. what a bunch of bs.

the deal really doesn't sound all that bad i guess, but not like i ever looked into timeshare stuff before. the salesguy we had to talk to wasn't pushy, like most normally are. he told us if this isn't something we were interested in, just say and we would end it, so we weren't wasting anyones times. when i told him we weren't going to do it, we pretty much stopped right there.

Roaring Run is a reputable, long-running, respected private membership camping place. They have always treated me and my family very well. I always enjoy being there. The staff and the other campers are like family to me.

Thanks for all the posts I just got a call from them yesterday to pick up my prizes.
