Quick review of BTL.
Lots to do, well organized activities, super clean, pool and swimming lake, fishing lake, trash and recycling pickup, great for bike riding, friendly staff and seasonals, great location. This is our second time there.
Would we return....NO.
And it's only no because of the bugs. Flies, gnats, stuff like that is fine, but mosquitoes and biting strawberry flies, forget it. It's not just morning or night, it's all day. Skintastic, Skin So Soft, Off, Repel. These bugs are immune to it. Repel with 40 % DEET helped a little.
Sorry for the rant, but it < UH OH ! - Censored >, ONLY because of the bugs. The campground itself is top notch.

Really need to get my blogs back up to date

We had a similar issue recently when we were at The Jellystone Campground in Lincoln DE. The noseeum's were terrible and so bad one night we couldn't even set by the fire. While growing up in Michigan we would use lemon or lime juice for the black flies and mosquitoes and it always worked.

During our stay at Jellystone we had some lemon juice for our adult beverages so I rubbed some to fight off the noseeum's and it worked. My wife had been using lavender lotion and we later found out that noseeum's love lavender. She should have used lemon juice:)

Try the lemon or lime juice it really does work.

I am going try this! In August we will be camping along the Delaware, then going to Cape May for a few days and then taking the ferry across and camping in Rehoboth. I expect to encounter bugs on that trip...We like to kayak, so many of our camping trips are near water...which bugs love too!

I always have limes around for...anyhow, I will have to pick up some lemons for that trip too! I'll avoid the lavender!

Coleman makes a gas powered misquito repeller. I had one & it worked well, until I lent it to someone and... well you know how that goes. Anyway, i cant remember the product name, but you can probally find it on ebay, just type in coleman & misquito. Unfortunately there has been so much rain up here in the NE, this season. Misquito breeding heaven!
