Well- this weekend was great- we were ready to go earlier than I thought- and check in time is 3 pm- we called they said- come on out-your site is open- I thought that was nice:)
We had hot dogs and Texas sheetcake for supper, I forgot the graham crackers- duh- so we had roasted marshmallows-
Sat- my mom and brother and his girlfriend stayed for the day to visit- we got up early before they got there and decided to we needed more wood- so we drove toward Philipsburg, hit a yardsale- and they sold fire wood we got about 20 nice pieces for 5 bucks a good deal!
Got back made Chili with ground sausage and beef over the fire in the dutch oven- everyone ate well....
then Sat night they had a Haunted Bog walk- soooo worth it- we did the adult one not the kid one my youngest got a scare but still- kept going LOL- I think the 16 yr old even jumped once teehheee-
this morning we got up- took a hike then decided to give the old cast iron griddle a work out over the fire- made homefries, eggs and bacon- we all ate good including the dog- she loves bacon ;)
got home and went to Youth Group at church- hung out with the other adults- much needed fun fellowship:)

kinda sad thinking this might be the last time we go camping this yr!

Although- these first 2 trips- really have helped us figure out all the stuff we need and stuff we need to adjust

When we got our camper two years ago on Veteran's day, Lerch had it winterized and we wanted to use it, so we had to flush the fluid out of the lines. After that weekend, we figured we were done, so we winterized again. The following weekend was beautiful, so we un-winterized and took it out. At that time, my husband heard about a different method to winterize the camper.

So, we don't do the traditional winterizing - instead, we use a compressor and blow the water lines out, and we are ready to go whenever we get a nice weekend! We are planning a weekend at Trough Creek (or some other close state park) on Veteran's Day weekend and we have a trip planned for Thanksgiving weekend to French Creek State Park. By blowing the lines out, they don't freeze and we we don't waste fluid like we did the first year we had our OR! (Oh, yea, we also had the Four Seasons Package put on our fifth wheel) Our "season" never really ends!

Well- that is interesting - thanks pyromug- I will have to tell my hubby- about the winterizing that you do- I hate the idea of getting a great weekend here soon and not being able to go:(

The adapter to hook to the compressor to blow out the lines is inexpensive. just remember to open your low point fittings.

I also use the blowing out the lines method to winterize. Drain the water heater, drain the low point fittings and a little of the pink stuff in each trap and good to go. Your lines can't freeze if the do not have any water in them.
